Acura is reviving the RSX name — but with a futuristic twist. The all-new RSX Prototype is set to make its global debut at the Monterey Car Week 2025, and it marks a major milestone: Acura’s first fully in-house electric vehicle, built from the ground up on a brand-new EV platform.
A Bold Step Toward Acura’s Electric Future
Unlike the previous ZDX — co-developed with General Motors and sharing DNA with the Chevy Blazer EV — the new RSX Prototype is a purebred Acura. It rides on the brand’s first dedicated electric platform, designed under the Precision Crafted Performance philosophy.
Also making its debut is Acura’s ASIMO OS, the smart operating system integrating driver assistance features and infotainment — with over-the-air update capability. This system, first previewed at CES 2025 in Honda’s 0 Series prototypes, represents a leap forward in connected mobility.
Design: Coupe-Like SUV With Aggressive Details
The RSX prototype flaunts a sleek and sporty SUV shape with a sharply raked roofline and coupe-inspired proportions. The illuminated Acura badge, slim LED lights, and an aggressive front fascia give it a futuristic look. In back, a full-width taillight and subtle ducktail spoiler hint at sporty performance.
Though not as extreme as the Performance EV Concept it draws inspiration from, the RSX maintains bold and assertive styling cues. Expect a refined balance of sporty character and premium EV sophistication.

Production Timeline and Manufacturing
The RSX production model is scheduled to begin production in late 2026, with official deliveries expected in 2027. It will be assembled at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio, alongside the four-door Integra.
This move further reinforces Honda and Acura’s commitment to North American EV manufacturing and clean mobility initiatives.
