Audi CEO Arrested

What was widely believed to never be able to happen actually happened when Audi CEO, Rupert Stadler, was placed under arrest and thrown in jail.

The fifty five year old was arrested at his home on the morning of June 18th, 2018 and faces charges of fraud in the entire dieselgate cover up where the company was guilty of adding in blocking software that would deceive the emission level on Audi and Volkswagen vehicles in Europe. The arrest comes as shock to most industry insiders as it was widely expected that none of the current executives would face harsh punishment.

Stadler is the highest ranking official to be locked down and was apparently caught on tape trying to influence witnesses in the matter and authorities wasted no time as they descended on the 55 year old’s home in the wee hours and had him booked immediately and also refused to allow him the opportunity to request bail.  This is just one more hit to the recently much maligned brand and promises to make for great theatre as this story continues to twist and turn.
